
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She is an attacker and captain for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the most prestigious division of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team alongside Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe from 2018 to 2020. [8][98][9] Morgan was drafted by the Western New York Flash at first place in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had completed her studies at Berkeley in the early part of the year. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. She made her professional debut with the club and assisted the team win its league championship. Morgan was 22, at the time, was the youngest player on the national team in the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, in which the team finished as runner-up. In the 123rd minute of the semi-final game against Canada in the 2012 London Olympics she scored the match-winning goals. She finished 2012 with 21 goals and 28 assists, and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score 20 and 20 goals. This made her the sixth-youngest U.S. player ever to reach 20 goals in one season. She was named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year and was a FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan played a key role in the United States winning their titles at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the FIFA Women's World Championships in 2019. She was selected to both the Dream Team for both tournaments. In 2019, she took home the Silver Boot.
